Down the centuries, the secret teachings of all esoteric traditions have whispered that we are “destined for Glory”.
What do they mean by glory?
‘Glory’ (Kavod) is a technical name for the primordial energy from which everything is created. It is sometimes poetically called “the light which ignited the stars”.
This ‘light’ is now fully acknowledged by science as being the underlying Force/Energy within all matter. And that it is indestructible – or stated in metaphysical terms –it is eternal. Thus, the ageless Wisdom teaches that our destiny is become fully conscious and transfigured into a radiant and deathless body. The Neo-Platonic writers of the Ancient Mysteries called this body the Augoeides – the “Self-glittering One” – and Gnostic scriptures named it the “Robe of Glory”.
There are many accounts of individuals attaining this ‘resurrection body’. Not only in the many writings around the world – but even today there are living witnesses have seen this ultimate attainment. There have been many cases of the Rainbow Body in Tibet, even in this century.
I often recall of the description of Jesus’ transfiguration – where his face shone like the sun, his robe became white as snow. After this event, it is said that he told his disciples not to mention what had happened to anyone until his mission was completed. Likewise, when the 16th Karmapa was once photographed it clearly showed him ‘displaying’ the Rainbow Body. When this was brought to his attention, he firmly instructed his disciples not to show this photograph to anyone who had not been present at the ceremony in which it took place.
Two other illustrious beings manifested at Jesus’ transfiguration, both of whom had attained degrees of spiritual transformation. One was the prophet Elijah, he who ascended in a ‘chariot of fire’. The word ‘chariot’ just means a ‘vehicle’ – and refers to the body. So, a ‘chariot of fire’ is a metaphor for a physical body that has become luminous with the radiant energy. In mystical branches of Judaism, Elijah is considered to be “ever living” – and a seat is still left for him at every Passover supper.
The other the figure was Moses – he who led the Exodus – and who was “versed in all the wisdom of Egypt”. After he had been in the Presence upon the mountaintop, he was compelled to wear a veil over his face – for the rest of his life – because his face had become too bright for ordinary people to look upon. There are many, many, other cases. And to understand why and how this perfecting of human evolution comes about, would take much longer than a Letter to Your Spirit can cover. And so, I have recorded a full teaching of this “Ultimate Evolution” for you to listen to.
